IHK and companies promote Duisburg
Duisburg, 18.12.2013 | Initiative “Autobahn signs” shows: business commits itself to the steel and logistics location
They are an eye-catcher on Autobahns: signs in a brown and white design pointing out the region’s sights. Now there is a premier coming up for Duisburg. With the key statements “Largest steel location in Europe” and “Largest inland port in Europe” the business location will soon be promoted on new signs. The sponsors of this initiative are the Lower Rhine Chamber of Industry and Trade (IHK) Duisburg-Wesel-Kleve, the local steel industry and the Port of Duisburg. They presented the Autobahn signs together on Wednesday, December 18 in front of the IHK building on the Mercatorstrasse (…).
For Erich Staake, Chief Executive Officer of Duisburger Hafen AG, the Autobahn signs are an important instrument to draw attention to the important business location on the Rhine and Ruhr: “Industry and logistics are the mainstays of our region. They secure jobs for thousands of people in and around Duisburg and at the same time mean home. With this initiative not only are we are honoring the around 300 year history of the Port, we are also creating a sense of identity with figureheads for the City of Duisburg. Therefore we did not delay for a single moment in supporting this meaningful project.” (…).
